If you don’t know what I’m referring to, see the movie trailer and maybe my reviews for context 🙂

64873081Fallen (Fallen #1) by Lauren Kate

What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?

17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

Get ready to fall . . .

Reviews: book 3 and book 4.

A few years ago, my best friend and I bonded over Twilight. Of course, respecting her tastes, I asked her for recommendations. She suggested Fallen. Flash forward a year or so, and I download it onto my iPad and stay up all night (unheard of, for me!) and loooved the story.

Then in 2014, Lauren Kate shares with us that the movie adaption is being produced. We were so excited!

This was the only crappy photo we got for YEARS. (Also Cameron looks soooooooooooooo poorly represented– that’s not at all what I would have pictured him as wtf is up with the biker look?!?!?!?!?

Let’s play Spot the Difference!

2 years later, and it’s aired in random non-English speaking countries like Italy and Asian countries. Which I have nothing against– but wouldn’t an English published book that has been made using the English  language, premiere in English speaking nations?!?

I began to give up hope, and so did many fans. Just go to Lauren Kate’s Facebook page. Thousands are frustrated that we have yet to see the movie. The series is no longer hot and popular in YA trends. It’s all leading to a failure. Which is nothing any of us want.

I know it’s not Lauren Kate’s fault. But she could address why she keeps teasing her predominantly English-speaking fans for over 3 years, with a movie adaption.

I’m keen to see these two! I really do hope the movie is a success 😀

Apparently 2017 is finally the year we will see Fallen screen in America (September 8th– I had no idea how soon it was premiering!) and the UK. Which means probably next year it will be for countries like mine (Australia) who will screen 3 months behind.

Are you guys frustrated? Or have you been one of the lucky ones who’s seen it already? Let me know below!

  1. I live on the Sunshine Coast in Australia and saw a screening in March of this year – it was released on my birthday. I did a book to film comparison on my blog if you’re interested…

    1. WAIT WHAT SOMEBODY IN AUSTRALIA HAS SEEN IT!?!?!?!??! OH my god! Yes, I’d love to check it out ASAP!

  2. I’m not that frustrated, I’ve simply lost interest. I have no idea what happened, but it’s so strange that a movie that was filmed in 2014 and was probably supposed to get a 2015 release has yet to premiere in the US and other English speaking countries. The movie is unfortunately going to flop…I think it is inevitable.

    1. Okay, I just looked up the movie, and it’s only playing near a theater that is 40 minutes away from me…trying to decide if I’m going! I want to support the movie (even though I didn’t like the book that much) Also, the movie has made 41 million dollars off a 40 million budget. So it’ll get a little bit of profit!!

    2. Well said! I’ve lost interest too. It’s such a shame– if they didn’t drag it out so long, it probably could’ve been more appreciated. Whoever was in charge of publicity did the worst job I’ve seen for a movie.
